In addition to hosting up to five startup companies, Desai Accelerator employs a group of paid student interns for each cohort. Interns have skills across software development, business, and design, and work for the startups in our program aswell as the Desai Accelerator overall. Students who have a passion for startups and are ready to help real companies grow fast will thrive in this program.
WHAT DO INTERNS DO?
Over 12 weeks in the summer, our interns complete a variety of meaningful and impactful projects for five current cohort companies. In the past, interns have developed web applications, built financial models, conducted customer discovery research, created style guides, designed user experiences (UX), and made promo videos—there are no typical projects! We hire 10 interns across six roles:
Business Intern
MBA/Grad Business Intern
UX Designer
Graphic and Visual Design Intern
Video and Content Producer
Senior Software Developer
WHO CAN APPLY?
Internships are open to anyone who is enrolled as a University of Michigan student for the duration of our summer program: May 24 through August13, 2021. We recruit and consider undergraduate and graduate students, as well as domestic and international students from all University of Michigan schools and colleges. This is a full-time summer internship; internsmust be able to be present (virtually) during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.
WHERE DO INTERNS GO NEXT?
Graduates of this highly competitive internship program go on to work all over the nation on their own startups or early startups, at established startups like Lyft, and premiere software companies like Microsoft and Salesforce. The experiences students gain in our program prepare them well for roles at venture capitaland investment banking firms' units focused on tech and startups.
