Illumina Sequencing
Illumina and the University of Michigan Advanced Genomics Core would like to invite you to join us for a workshop series. We will focus on building a foundational knowledge of Illumina Sequencing and Library Prep to ensure your success in many home-brew applications.

In this webinar, we will give a comprehensive overview of the steps required to go from DNA (or RNA) to sequencing results. We will start by taking a deep dive into the Illumina Adapter structure as well as common methods for adding these adapters to your sample. We will discuss library preparation strategies including tagmentation, ligation, and PCR and how you can incorporate these methods into home-brew applications. We will then discuss indexing strategies and how to choose which is best for your project. Lastly, we will demystify what is happening to your libraries on the sequencer and how you can use this knowledge to generate the best data possible. This will include information such as how to determine the best coverage and read length for your libraries as well as how to ensure proper color balance and base diversity.
