Cornerstone Research Employer Challenge
From March 10th--17th, students will work on a caseabout a proposed merger of two companies in the healthcare space. Professionals from Cornerstone Research will describe the case challenge at the start of the week and then will review student results (via Zoom) at the end of the week. Cornerstone Research is a management consulting firm that specializes in the analysis of complex financial, economic, and marketingissues.
This Employer Challenge is for you if:
You want to learn about consulting cases and business decision making
You want to practice your analytic, collaboration, and presentation skills
You want to apply your course work to real-world examples
You want to connect with professionals and recruiters in the consulting industry and build your self-confidence
By signing up as a team of 2-4 students, you are responsible for applying on behalf of your team that you've created on your own. All participants must be U-M Ann Arbor undergraduate students. Only one application is required per group.
If you are interested in the challenge but do not have a group, you can add your information to this sheetand contact others to find your team of 2-4 students

At least one member from each team MUST participate in the virtual case study overview on Wednesday, March 10th from 3:00-4:00 pm EST (Zoom link to follow), so please plan on attending. If a member from your team is not able to be there, your team cannot participate in this EmployerChallenge.
All team members MUST be available to present their case via Zoom sometime between 12:00-3:00 pm EST on Wednesday, March 17th. Eachteam will sign up for a 20-minute time slot in that window for their presentation/feedback. It is the responsibility of the team to meet together and work on this project on their own time. Student teams must adhere to all U-M safety precautions and campus guidelines while working on this team project.
This application will close on Sunday, March 7th at 11:59 pm EST. However, we encourage you to apply ASAP as this application may close early if many applications are received, as we will accept teams on a rolling basis. You will be notified if your team is selected to participateby Monday, March 8th. If you have any questions, please email uccexp@umich.edu.

Here's how Employer Challenges work:
WEDNESDAY March 10th: 3:00pm-4:00pm EST
- Cornerstone Research reps will besharing information and providing background information on the Employer Challenge virtually via Zoom
- You will pick your final presentation timeslots (please communicate with your team ahead of time to know when your team is available between 12:00 pm-3:00 pm EST on Wednesday, March 17th for your final presentation)
WEDNESDAY March 10th - TUESDAY, March 17th(during the week on your own time)
- Student teams will develop a 5-minute pitch that addresses Cornerstone Research's Challenge
- You will select 1 team member to manage your slide presentation on Zoom. All team members may speak on the slides, but only 1 team member will be sharing their screen.
-Student teams MUST adhere to all U-M safety precautions and campus guidelines while working on this team project which means all work mustbe done remotely.
WEDNESDAY, March 17th (time slots will be scheduledbetween 12:00 pm-3:00 pm EST)
- Student teams will give their 5-minute pitch to the Cornerstone Research reps via Zoom! (Please join the Zoom link10 minutes before your scheduled presentation time and you will be placedin a waiting room until your presentation time)
- Teams will engage in Q&A with Cornerstone Research reps and receive feedback for 10 minutes on the content of the presentation, creativity, and overall presentation skills
- Resumes of participating students will be forwarded to the Cornerstone Research team
THE FOLLOWING WEEK
- The winning team will be announced!
