On behalf of the Building Equity Book Club, Rima Hassouneh will lead a discussion with 25 high school educators around the U.S. about Jake Halpern and Michael Sloan's graphic novel, _Welcome to the New World_. The discussion will focus on the themes of this novel, as well as on how to teach about the Syrian civil war and the plight of its refugees through the story of one family's journey to the United States of America. Open to registrants only. The Building Equity Book Club is a Title VI collaboration with the University of Minnesota's Institute for Global Studies.
