A Discussion on Incorporating Sociology into Medical Practice
Roberto Montenegro, M.D., Ph.D., is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Seattle Children's Hospital and UW Medicine and the director of mental health services at Echo Glen Children's Center. Dr. Montenegro completed his Ph.D. in Sociology at UCLA, focusing on Race, Racism, Medical Sociology and Doctor-Patient communication. He is a national leader and researcher on bias in medicine and examines both evidence-based bias reduction strategies as well as
race-related interpersonal communication strategies.
