Anti-Asian Hate & the Mental Health Crisis on College Campuses
As anti-Asian hate crimes continue to surge in the US, higher education institutions are uniquely positioned to provide support for Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) students, and become spaces for AAPI wellness. Join us for a live Zoom discussion with experts from Asian American Studies, University Counseling Services, and Higher Education Administration. Experts will discuss AAPI college student experiences, positionalities, and mental health, and then provide recommendations, both structural and individual, for improving AAPI student well-being. Panelists will also discuss strategies for improving student mental health and achieving a more racially equitable campus.

Keynote: Kevin Nadal, Professor of Psychology at CUNY

Panelists:
Anmol Satiani, Assistant Director for Clinical Training at Depaul University
Ian Shin, Assistant Professor of Asian American Studies at the University of Michigan
Sam Museus, Professor of Education Studies at UC San Diego
Hendry Ton, Associate Vice Chancellor for Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at UC Davis

Moderator: Marcia Liu, Licensed Counseling Psychologist and Mental Health Coordinator for the Hunter College AANAPISI Project
