The 11th annual conference in the Perspectives on Contemporary Korea series will center on "Reclaiming the City" from the viewpoint of artist, architects, and academics. Thinking about various modes of spatial practices, this conference will probe the contemporary conditions of the city in a country that has undergone exponential growth and is in constant metamorphosis. We will delve into multifaceted questions including; Who owns the city? Who produces the city? Who has the right to the city today? How do we practice the city?

This two-day conference will be held in a hybrid format at the University of Michigan.

The event is made possible through generous funding provided by the Korea Foundation. The conference is free and open to the public via Zoom Webinar.

Cosponsored by the A. Alfred Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning and the Korea Foundation.
