Short Stories from The New Yorker
This Study Group will be online.
This study group is suitable for those who typically do not read short stories - but may be ardent readers of novels, mysteries and creative non-fiction - and are eager to be pulled into the somewhat dubious and mysterious world of the New Yorker Short Fiction.
The vaunted New Yorker has, for nearly a century, published some of the most iconic short fiction of all time, and nourished the masters (and queens) of the form. Each week we will read and discuss one short story. Contextually relevant special topics on literary fiction will also be presented. All reading materials will be distributed in advance.
The Study Group will be instructor-led by Deb Mukherjee, but with enough room for discussions. This study group will meet Tuesdays beginning March 1.
Pre-registration is required via the OLLI website or phone. A link to access the study group will be e-mailed to you approximately one week prior to the first session.
