This Study Group will be online.

The class will use film segments to promote stimulating discussions about families. During each of five sessions we will discuss one of these films: "Avalon" (1990), "Eve's Bayou" (1997), "Smoke Signals" (1998), "Real Women Have Curves" (2002), and "The Big Sick" (2017).
Participants can view the whole film at home and/or ponder the discussion questions before each session. We will look at how each family's history, culture, and environment affect the interactions portrayed.
Instructor Arlene Weisz is a retired social worker and social work professor who enjoyed using films as part of teaching about families for about 20 years. This study group will meet Mondays beginning March 14 through April 11.
Pre-registration is required via the OLLI website or phone. A link to access the study group will be e-mailed to you approximately one week prior to the first session.
