PSC & GFP Special Session
Linda Silka, President of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues
Linda Silka, the newly-elected president of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI, Division 9 of APA), is conducting a "listening tour" at institutions around the country, to learn about research that is important to the SPSSI's mission. The goal of Dr. Silka's listening tour is to improve SPSSI's ability to meet the needs of psychologists with interests in social issues.
This session is a part of Dr. Silka's listening tour, conducted as an informal conversation. In the session, we will have an opportunity to hear from Dr. Silka and share about our research and policy interests. Questions we will discuss are for example: What research really excites you right now? What problems do you think we should be focusing on in our research? Have you seen some interesting problems that psychology could tackle, but has not?
We welcome interested faculty members and students from all areas to attend this session!
