Medical physics, like many other fields within science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM), is male-dominated. In this collaboration between CBSSM and the Michigan Medicine Department of Radiation Oncology, we aimed to explore gender-inequities within medical physics via semi-structured interviews with thirty-two practicing medical physicists across the United States. Our interviews covered three primary topics: mentorship, work/life integration, and discrimination within the field, and participants shared compelling stories documenting their own lived experiences related to gender equity. Dissemination of this work will both improve awareness of systemic inequities and promote positive change for the future.
