Ripples in the pond: WISE conversation about bad behavior by scientists

University of Michigan is currently trying to reckon with and heal from multiple high profile sexual misconduct cases, some of which involve (former) faculty members and administrators from science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines. The Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Program wants to give you an opportunity to process your reactions to the most recent news about President Schlissel as well as other, very public, instances of scientists behaving badly. Regardless of your own personal experience with sexual and gender-based misconduct, learning about the inexcusable behavior of senior scientists at U-M may be impacting you. WISE invites all students and postdoctoral scholars who have concerns about gender equity in STEM to join a community conversation (via Zoom) on Thursday, January 27th from 5:30-6:30 PM. In addition to small group discussions, we hope to hear how WISE can best support the women in science and engineering on campus right now.

Registration is recommended but not required.
