In the aftermath of a tragedy, journalists leave. The event transitioned from news to normality. The trauma lingers and sediments among survivors and citizens. The silence we, journalists, inflict is a type of violence that neglects communities that suffer. The news’ chain production normalizes the trauma. Let’s discuss a proposal to stop the cycle.
