Applied Physics Seminar: "Seeing and Hearing Radiation: New Ways for Monitoring Radiotherapy"
Ibrahim (Abe) Oraiqat, Applied Research Scientist, Moffitt Cancer Center, Alumnus of the Applied Physics Program, University of Michigan
Abstract:
“In this work we explore novel methods for monitoring radiotherapy to improve clinical outcomes. By “seeing” the radiation using Cerenkov emission , we explore the feasibility of biologically guided radiotherapy and by “hearing” the radiation using ionizing radiation acoustic imaging (iRAI), we explore its use for real time in vivo dosimetry.”
