Presented By: Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering
Climate & Space Department Seminar
Dr. Jack Kaye, NASA Associate Research Director, Earth Science Division
"Integration of Satellite, Surface, and Airborne Data in Support of Earth System Science"
Abstract:
NASA’s Earth Science Division provides a comprehensive view of the Earth and its response to naturally occurring and human-induced changes. The space-based vantage point provides a unique way of looking at the Earth as a complete system, but that perspective is complemented by surface and aircraft-based observations, which are integrated together to help us understand how the Earth system behaves and evolves. This talk will reflect on how the different measurement approaches are used and then integrated together to help in these efforts. Examples from recent activities and plans for the future will be described.
