Pro Football Hall of Fame "Before the Snap" ft. Sarah Thomas
The Pro Football Hall of Fame is proud to offer a series for learners in high school, college and beyond! “Before the Snap” gives an insight to professional careers in and around the NFL, while giving a live audience the opportunity to interact with an industry expert. On Tuesday, March 29th, 2022 at 12:00pm ET special guest Sarah Thomas will be onhand to speak on her career, what she does in her current position and much more!!
Sarah Thomas is currently entering her 8th season as an NFL Official. She grew up in Mississippi and was the first student from her high school to letter 5 times in softball. She attended the University of Mobile on a basketball scholarship and was an Academic All-American. In 1996, Thomas began her officiating career in the Gulf Coast Football Officials Association, working her first varsity high school game in 1999. Along her journey to the NFL, she officiated for Conference USA, worked a bowlgame in 2009, a Big Ten game, and the United Football League. On April 8, 2015, the NFL announced that she would be the first permanent female official in NFL history. Thomas also became the first female to officiate a NFL playoff game (2019) and then was selected as a member of the Super Bowl (55) crew in 2021.
