On Wednesday, March 23rd, UBI at the University of Michigan and the Latinx Undergraduate Medical Association (LUMA) will hold a phlebotomy clinic and barriers and access to healthcare presentation from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in Great Lakes Central room at Palmer Commons.This opportunity is open to all Michigan students!Versiti Blood Center of Michigan will be bringing in their phlebotomy equipment with a prosthetic arm, and trained phlebotomists will give an interactive presentation about the training and process of drawing blood.LUMA will then be giving a presentation about the importance of diversity in the blood pool, different barriers that prevent equal access to healthcare, and important considerations for healthcare providers to minimize these barriers.
