Contemporary Celtic music from a Philadelphian-Irish-Canadian-Japanese band

RUNA draws on the diverse musical backgrounds of its band members and offers a contemporary and refreshing approach to traditional and more recently composed Celtic material. Through their repertoire of highly energetic material on one hand and and graceful acoustic melodies on the other, this vocal-instrumental ensemble gives arrangements of traditional songs and tunes a totally fresh sound. RUNA's music fuses traditions from Ireland, Scotland, Canada, and the U.S., and the band members comes from Philadelphia, Dublin, Canada, and Japan. Members of RUNA have played with Solas, Riverdance, Slide, Clannad, Fiddlers’ Bid, Moya Brennan, Eileen Ivers, Hazel O’Conner, Full Frontal Folk, Keith & Kristyn Getty, Barcó, and the Guy Mendilow Band.
