SMBC Meet and Greet (Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged and Acquisition Finance, Loan Syndications)
Event Description:
Our SMBC Meet and Greet Series is a uniqueopportunity to meet and interact with the various business areas that hire interns and analysts. This session will feature overviews of three business groups followed by a Q&A session.

Debt Capital Markets (DCM)
SMBC Nikko’s Debt Capital Markets (DCM) group focuses on debt origination, structuring, and execution across a variety of securities, ratings categories, industries, and currencies. The team works closely with Syndicate and other related products as well as Corporate & Investment Banking (client coverage/relationship management) to service SMBC’s issuer fixed income needs.
Loan Syndications (LCM) + Leveragedand Acquisition Finance Group (LAFG)
The Loan Capital Markets (LCM) Department is responsible for the structuring, underwriting, execution and distribution of syndicated loan transactions across all industry and origination groups at SMBC. LCM professionals work with and advise the front office marketing (origination) units in order to successfully pitch corporateand financial sponsor clients in a combined effort to win lead-mandates for syndicated loan facilities. Proposals to prospective clients usually involve coordination and partnership with other SMBC and Nikko (our Securities unit) product groups (Debt Capital Markets, FX, Derivatives Marketingand so on) in order to provide comprehensive, multiproduct financing solutions to our clients. Once a lead mandate for a syndicated loan is received, the LCM team is responsible for execution and distribution of loans to both banks and institutional investors.
Leveraged Finance is a client-facing division of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, responsible for delivering the full front-to-back spectrum of lead leveraged loan and highyield bond solutions to our client base including, private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies and non-Investment grade corporates. Leveraged & Acquisition Finance interacts with bank and institutional clients via its Sales & Trading desks within the broader Loan Capital Markets and Nikko Fixed Income platforms.
