CJS Noon Lecture Series

A Conversation with Benshi Kataoka Ichiro

(FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC) Benshi Kataoka Ichiro has a residency at UM through the Center for World Performance Studies, and will be performing for the entire CJS Fall Film Series. On September 13, Kataoka will sit down with UM's Japanese cinema scholar, Markus Nornes, to talk about the history and art of narrating silent films. This is a precious opportunity for audience members to talk to a practicing benshi.
