Pollinators have been in the news lately, with an emphasis on the non-native honeybee. There are many more species of insects that pollinate flowers that are important parts of the ecosystem. Mark O'Brien will provide a tips on how to manage your garden to attract pollinators. Garden structure, plant phenology, and choice of food sources will be discussed so that you can improve the quality of your garden and increase the species diversity of the resident and visiting insects. Mark O'Brien is the Collection Manager of the Insect Division at the Museum of Zoology, and has published on the wasp and bee species found in Michigan. Presented by the Herb Study Group.
