Ready, Set, Intern! For First-Year Students

As an incoming student, it can feel tricky to figure out how (and when) to get an internship and to understand what your career interests are. You might also have questions about how your major relates to yourjob options.

The University Career Center understands and we want to do everything we can to help you feel confident and supported with your internship search and career decisions.

During this 50-minute workshop, we hope to...
- Walk you through what employers look for in interns
- Help you set goals to prepare yourself to be a GREAT candidate
- Debunk themyths of what you can do with your major
- Guide you on how to use our resources to gain experience
- Navigate the challenges in finding internship opportunities

You should come if you…
- Are a first-year student or a transfer student
- Aren't sure when and if you should go for an internship
- Want to know what experiences/skills employers look for and how to get them
- Have been asked at least 50 times already, “what’s your major?”
- Aren’t totally sure on what the “University Career Center” does
