Our SMBC Meet and Greet Series is for all students seeking a 2023 internship or full-time analyst opportunity with our firm. Each session will consist of overviews of the various groups that hire into our programs led by the business members themselves followed by an open-forum Q&A session. Since each session will be different, students are encouraged to attend as many as they like.

Corporate & Investment Banking Coverage - Coverage Group
SMBC’s U.S. Corporate & Investment Banking Coverage (CIBC) Department acts as SMBC’s primary point of contact to find creative solutions to client needs, build long-term relationships, and promote SMBC’s full suite of financial products and services. It’s our job to make sure clients experience seamless coverage across the entire bank. A career in CIBC coverage is the only one that collaborates across all products and across our broad geographic footprint.

Corporate & Investment Banking Coverage - Sustainable Finance & Advisory Group
The Sustainable Finance & Advisory (SFA) Group supports our clients across the Americas and across all products with implementing ESG and sustainability strategy, principally through integration into financial products such as green bonds, sustainability-linked loans and related instruments. The SFA Group is one of the bank’s newest teams, responding to and helping drive the megatrend of ESG and financial integration.

Global Financial Institutions Group (GFIG)
The Global FIG Department provides comprehensive banking solutions to our clients by leveraging the strength of SMBC Group, our product partners, and our global platform. Primary function is to build strategic, long-term relationships with clients across banking, insurance, funds, asset management and specialty finance.
