Both pay homage to Mozart and the golden age of a previous era. Poetic themes and metaphorical images provide the creative impetus for Joseph Schwantner’s ”¦and the mountains rising nowhere, UM doctoral composer Paul Dooley’s Point Blank, Jennifer Higdon’s Road Stories, and Samuel Barber\&##39;s Commando March.
