Justin Rogers
Justin Rogers was born and raised in Metro Detroit and began attending the University of Michigan (UofM) in September 2014. During his time at the UofM he was a key contributor to a number of different student organizations and programs, his favorites being the Educational Theater Company (ETC), the Center For Healthcare Engineering and Patient Safety (CHEPS), and the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE). After completing his B.S.E in IOE in 2019, Justin moved out to Seattle and began working for Amazon as a business analyst on their Automated Brand Protection team. Over the last three years, he has honed his analytical skills, working across multiple teams to streamline processes, build out reporting, and generate insights that empower others to make better decisions. He is currently working to transition into a product management role which will focus on building internal tooling to improve operations.
The diverse skill set that a person receives with an IOE degree allows for a vast range of career opportunities. In this talk, Justin will focus on how his experiences in the IOE department prepared him for his current role at Amazon and how it can be used to transition into other roles as well.
