Representations of women appear in many different artifacts in the Kelsey Museum. In this virtual tour we will focus on portrayals of goddesses and mortal women. The tour will highlight artifacts that were found in a variety of contexts from everyday homes to temples and tombs; places that were used for such purposes as worship, healing, and decoration. Along the way, we will see examples of how women were depicted in the ancient Middle East, Cyprus, Egypt, Etruria, and Rome.
