Guest Lecture: Avi Loeb,

In Search for Extraterrestrial Technological Equipment

The University of Michigan program in Creativity and Consciousness Studies, in collaboration with the College for Creative Studies, present Avi Loeb, professor of science at Harvard University.

Space archaeology for extraterrestrial artefacts is one of the most exciting frontiers in science. Tentative clues for unusual objects in the sky were identified in the form of the first interstellar meteor CNEOS 2014-01-08 which was tougher than iron, the anomalous interstellar object "Oumuamua and Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) in the Earth's atmosphere. The "Galileo Project" aims to collect new scientific evidence on the nature of these objects using new telescope systems for UAP, a space mission to rendezvous with the next "Oumuamua and an expedition to scoop the meteor fragments on the ocean floor near Papua New Guinea. The lecture will feature content from Loeb’s books "Extraterrestrial" and "Life in the Cosmos", both published in 2021, as well as material from his regular commentaries.

Please register in advance for this lecture. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
