Algebraic Topology Seminar: The nilpotency of v_1 in the K-theory of Z/p^n.

Benjamin Antieau, Northwestern University

Joint work with Achim Krause and Thomas Nikolaus establishes a new method for computing the K-groups of Z/p^n based on prismatic envelopes. I will explain the history of this problem, how our method works, and how to use it to compute the degree of nilpotence of v_1 in the K-theory of Z/p^n.
