Conductor Jayce Ogren

University Philharmonia Orchestra presents a powerful concert experience as part of the Arts & Resistance themed semsester. The program features Michigan faculty member Bright Sheng's H'un: Lacerations (in memory of the Chinese Cultural Revolution), Adolphus Hailstork's Epitaph for a Man Who Dreamed (a tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr.), as well as works by Beethoven and Sibelius.

With a string section comprising all freshmen, the Philharmonia Orchestra provides student musicians an immersive opportunity to improve their large ensemble skills and play some of the greatest works in the symphonic repertoire.
