In his first official concert as the new Director of Bands, Jason Fettig leads the University of Michigan Symphony Band in a program of both new and old classics for winds that each represent something colorfully emblematic. Highlights of the program include the consortium premiere of the wind version of Adam Schoenberg's Cool Cat co-commissioned by the University of Michigan and "The President's Own" United States Marine Band, Jennifer Higdon’s stunning blue cathedral, and a consortium premiere of U-M alum Joel Puckett's Southern Comforts featuring SMTD faculty member, violinist Matt Albert.
