[Cancelled] Algebraic Geometry Seminar: Effective cycles on secant bundles to rational curves
Ben Gould (U. Michigan)
In this talk I’ll discuss work in progress on the problem of determining the cones of effective cycles on a class of varieties called secant bundles. The cones of effective cycles are the higher-codimension variants of the cone of effective divisors, which is an important invariant of a variety for birational geometry. Secant bundles are projective bundles which resolve the singularities of secant varieties to curves, and as we will see, (so far, some of) their effective cycles can be succinctly described using their geometry.
