Communication Skills and Conflict
In this 90-minute interactive session facilitated by OSCR, participants will learn about two specific tools that can be used to promote communication: the LARA method and non-violent communication. The LARA method is a listening skills technique, an acronym for Listen, Affirm, Respond and Add Information. Non-violent communication proposes that if people can identify their needs, the needs of others, and the feelings that surround these needs, a resolution can be sought. For both LARA and non-violent communication, role plays and scenarios can be integrated to help participants practice with these models of listening and responding.
