The Plucker map embeds the Grassmannian Gr(k,n) into projective space -- namely, the projectivization of the k-the exterior power of an n-dimensional vector space. Moreover, the Plücker embedding satisfies an easily describable set of homogeneous quadratic relations called the Plucker relations. In this talk, we'll introduce the Plucker embedding, derive the Plucker relations, and look at what this tells us about Gr(2,4).
