Logarithmic geometry
Ying Wang
Log geometry keeps track of different compacificiations of varieties, and encords combinatorial data on the boundary, an example being toric geometry. We will introduce examples of log geometry and notions of log structures. Depending on time, we will talk about its connection to tropical geometry and log Calabi-Yau pairs.
