The Kelsey Museum is home to an impressive collection of well-preserved glass fragments and vessels from sites around the Mediterranean. This Saturday Sampler Tour will shine a light on some of the beautiful examples currently on display in our galleries—all the while tracing the development of glass from its discovery in Mesopotamia through its manufacture in Egypt through it becoming a commodity in the Roman world. From pitchers and bottles to flasks and lamps, learn about the aesthetic and functional purposes these glass objects served in the lives of ancient peoples.

This event is free and open to all visitors.
