This semester we will be discussing the new MAA book by Daniel Reinholz, Equitable Teaching and Engaging Mathematics Teaching: A Guide to Disrupting Hierarchies in the Classroom. In our first meeting of the semester, we will lay the groundwork for our discussions this semester, and start our discussion of Reinholz's book. Loosely, we will aim to use the material through the beginning of chapter 3 as the subject of our discussion (attendees are encouraged to read sections 1.1, 2.3.5-2.4, and 3.1-3.2, or more; but those interested should attend even if they are unable to read in advance).
