Pottery has been described as the “tail that wags archaeology” because it has been found in such abundant quantities at excavation sites around the world. In today’s tour, we will look at the variety of pottery in the Kelsey Museum from ancient Egypt, Cyprus, Greece, and Rome. While examining the often beautiful vases, we will consider the clues they give about their uses and what they reveal about the people who used them.

This event is free and open to all visitors. If you have any questions or concerns regarding accessing this event, please visit our accessibility page at https://myumi.ch/zwPkd or contact the education office by calling (734) 647-4167. We ask for advance notice as some accommodations may require more time for the university to arrange.
