Sunday Drop-In Tour | As Luck Would Have It
Kathy Gunderson
“As Luck Would Have It” will take a look at various apotropaic objects in the Kelsey Museum’s collection. The term “apotropaic” refers not only to objects or images that are believed to ward off evil but also to rituals, gestures, and incantations found in various cultures throughout history. Known by a variety of names, “lucky charms” today are ubiquitous in our culture—ask anyone who has to wear the same lucky socks on game day!
