Throughout this fall and winter, the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) is mounting a special exhibition featuring over 200 pieces from the Middle East, Egypt, Central and South Asia, and beyond. Spanning from ancient to modern times, The Art of Dining: Food Culture in the Islamic World invites visitors to consider the links between art and cuisine through a wide range of works exploring the preparation, serving, and enjoyment of food. Join guest speaker Katherine E. Kasdorf, associate curator for Asian and Islamic arts at the DIA, as she delves into the rich culinary culture of the Islamic world. (Visit https://dia.org/events/exhibitions/art-dining to learn more about the exhibit.)
