This event is part of our ongoing Thursday Seminar Series.

About this seminar: The Afkhami Lab investigates the ecology of microbe-microbe and plant-microbiome interactions at scales ranging from genes to ecosystems. This talk highlights three areas central to understanding plant-microbial interactions that have been the focus of recent research efforts. Specifically, the talk will address (1) conceptual and empirical advancements in understanding the ecological, evolutionary, and molecular consequences of multispecies microbial mutualisms, (2) how microbial landscapes scale up to impact plant distributions, and (3) how stress, especially from anthropogenic sources, affects the ecology of microbiomes and microbe-mediated plant responses.
