Flyer for the sustainable food panel
The sustainable food panel will be held in West Hall 240 from 6-7:30pm on September 18th, 2024. Kim Korona (VegMichigan), Brece Clark (New Roots Institute), Phimmasone Owens (Refugee Gardens Initiative), and Nichola Dyer (Global Seaweed Coalition) will be participating as panelists, discussing topics ranging from nutritional benefits of the vegan diet and seaweed, the environmental impacts of factory farming worldwide, how gardening can be used to support immigrants and women in the US, and the possibility for seaweed production to bring economic prosperity and gender empowerment to communities around the globe. The event will be held in partnership with the Sierra Club at the University of Michigan and Plant Futures. All are welcome, including but not limited to UM students and faculty and AA community members.
