Student Combinatorics: Acyclic quivers and admissible quasi-Cartan companions

Quivers and their mutations form the combinatorial core of cluster algebras. After reviewing some background, we will introduce a mutation invariant of acyclic quivers discovered by Ahmet Seven. As an application, we will use it to prove that several quivers cannot be mutation-acyclic.
