Victor Perera Papers: From Chaos to Cataloged
Series: Third Thursdays at the Library
Join us as we showcase the recently processed papers of Victor Perera, a Guatemalan-born Sephardic Jewish-American writer, journalist, and political activist. Learn about archival processing and the collection’s journey from a basement to library accessible via a finding aid. See highlights from Perera’s collection, including original drafts, materials from his time at the University of Michigan, and his research on Guatemala conflicts, whales, the Loch Ness Monster, his Sephardic Jewish genealogy, and the Perera family curse.
Light refreshments will be served.
Join us (on the 6th floor of Hatcher) for Third Thursdays at the Library, a themed monthly open house where we share materials from our collections.
While you’re here, pick up a Third Thursday Passport and collect a stamp from each of the three Third Thursday Open Houses — the Clark Library, International Studies, and the Special Collections Research Center — to win a prize!
