Perched above the Aegean Sea in Türkiye, the ancient Ionian Greek city of Notion was famed for its military harbor, as well as its connections to the city of Colophon and the oracular sanctuary at Claros. In this Flash Talk, Christopher Ratté will discuss the most recent season of fieldwork at the site, highlighting the ongoing excavation, study, and conservation of Notion’s civic, residential, and surrounding areas.

Christopher Ratté is the director of the Notion Archaeological Project and professor of ancient Mediterranean art and archaeology at the University of Michigan.
