This symposium explores the multifaceted issue of access in transplantation, bringing together experts from the University of Michigan, Northwestern University, and Henry Ford Health to address the critical challenges and opportunities in improving organ transplantation equity and availability. As the demand for organ transplants continues to outpace supply, understanding and improving access to transplantation is more important than ever.
Attendees will hear from experts about medical, ethical, social, and policy innovations that impact access to life-saving organ transplants. Topics will include organ allocation, disparities in waiting lists, geographic variables, socioeconomic factors, strategies for increasing donation, and advances in biotechnology.
