Protest at University of Michigan Convocation (Bentley Historical Library)
Join us for a captivating exhibit on the Black Action Movement (BAM) and Being Black at UM (BBUM), featuring historic artifacts and a panel of living historians. Celebrate the rich legacy of student activism at U-M and learn from those who paved the way as we explore our community’s shared history. This archive exhibition was birthed through the collaboration of the Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs (MESA), Trotter Multicultural Center, the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies, the Bentley Historical Library, the Shapiro Undergraduate Library, Support for Incoming Black Students (SIBS) and the Black Student Union (BSU). This year's theme, It Starts with Us: Embracing our Collective Power, is a potent reminder of the legacy of remarkable Black achievements and steadfast activism as we pursue a better future. It reflects a commitment to strengthening our community bonds, reshaping narratives, and amplifying Black voices.

Open to all U-M students.
