Erin Stead is an American illustrator. She has made many bestselling books including the Caldecott Medal award winning A Sick Day for Amos McGee, which was also a New York Times Best Illustrated Book, a NYPL 100 Great Children's Books selection, and a Publisher's Weekly Best Children's Book. Many books later, she is still making her pictures by hand in the studio she shares with her husband, author/illustrator Philip Stead. They live in Michigan.
