Student Number Theory: Some facts about Bruhat-Tits theory

Bruhat-Tits theory is indispensable to the study of p-adic reductive groups. This talk will give a basic overview of their buildings, parahoric subgroups, reductive quotients, etc. This talk is designed to be helpful for those that are interested in the topics of this year's Arizona Winter School.
