Recorder and flute virtuoso, as well as professor, scholar, and instrument collector, Michael Lynn presents a lecture and demonstration of original 17th and 18th century flutes and recorders from the Stearns Collection as well as his own instruments. Stearns director Joseph Gascho will join him on harpsichord, and other guest artists include recent alumna Ellen Sauer and current undergraduate Chasten Musenda. Works by Boismortier, Hotteterre, and Schop will be performed.

Guest artist Michael Lynn is Professor of Historical Flutes at Oberlin Conservatory. This event is sponsored by the Virginia Martin Howard Lecture Series Endowment.
