Teaching Climate Change

Have you noticed U-M students’ intense interest in climate change? Would you like to meet that interest by offering new courses or embedding new content in courses you already offer (especially in courses that might not directly seem to connect to climate change)?
This UM Climate Week, join CRLT and PitE for a cross-disciplinary panel discussion with faculty and instructional staff who can help you do just that. Modeled after the annual
Embedding Climate Change in the Curriculum (EC3) retreat, we’ll cover multiple course styles and ideas to get you started, and provide resources to support your development in this space. After the panel, our panelists will share their own syllabi and assignments in small, roundtable discussions.
Panelists:
Anne McNeil: Carol A. Fierke Collegiate Professor of Chemistry, Macromolecular Science and Engineering, and the Program in the Environment; Arthur F. Thurnau Professor; Faculty Sustainability Advisor, College of Literature, Science, and the Arts
Lisa Disch: Professor, Political Science and Professor, Women's Studies, College of Literature, Science, and the Arts
Avery Lawrence: Lecturer I, Art and Design, Penny W Stamps School of Art and Design
Jessica Walker: Assistant Professor, Afroamerican and African Studies and Assistant Professor, American Culture, College of Literature, Science, and the Arts
